About Our Founder: Michael W. Tweet, RFC
Michael began managing his family's investments in 1995. In 1996 he graduated from Arizona State University's Finance Department with a Business/Finance degree. During his time at ASU he was selected from 300 applicants to serve in the prestigious Arizona Governor's Office - Internship Program. He served as an Intern in the Governor's Office, serving in the Workforce Development area, at the State Capitol.
Following graduation, Michael joined the brokerage firm Charles Schwab & Company where he became registered as a General Securities Representative. Following his work at Charles Schwab, Michael accepted the potential for ownership in a San Franciscan start-up firm, Financial Interactive. This role put Michael in contact with some of the world's largest private equity & hedge fund managers.
After observing many successful money managers, Michael decided to begin his own investment firm. He returned to Scottsdale and started Ancala Wealth Management in order to provide world-class financial planning, with unbiased financial advice.
Michael set high standards for his firm, and continued his education by completing the Kaplan University CFP® study program, and was awarded the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) credential. In addition, Michael is working on the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, having passed the Level I CFA exam. Michael also holds a number of securities and insurance registrations, in addition to a Preparer's Tax Identification Number (PTIN) with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Michael is a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network, a Registered Investment Adviser. Michael chose to partner with Commonwealth, one of the preeminent independent broker/dealers in the United States, to ensure that clients receive a wide variety of investment choices to complement their goals. Commonwealth helps his firm serve clients in a seamless and efficient manner by providing back-office, investment, and technology support.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, outdoor activities, and travel. He lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife, two daughters, and yellow lab.
